Have you ever noticed how quickly the mind moves when something doesn’t go the way you expected?
Someone says something that doesn’t sit right, a situation unfolds differently than you’d hoped, and almost instantly, the replay begins in your head.
Analyzing every detail. Searching for what it meant, what you did wrong, what you could have said differently.
I’ve been there more times than I can count.
What I’ve come to understand, though, is that it’s rarely about the moment itself. It’s about what that moment touched within you.
Emotions don’t appear out of nowhere. They come from somewhere deeper: a past experience, a memory, a moment where you felt something similar and simply didn’t have the space or support to fully process it.
So your mind did what it needed to do. It protected you. It pushed it down and kept moving.
What most people don’t realize, and I didn’t either for a long time, is that those unprocessed emotions don’t disappear. They stay in the body.
And over time, life brings us new situations, different people, different circumstances that gently (or not so gently) bring them back to the surface. Not to overwhelm us, but to offer us another opportunity to meet them differently.
For years, my instinct was to think my way through it. To understand it better, to control it, to fix it.
The real shift came when I stopped trying to figure it out and started feeling into it instead. Noticing where the emotion lived in my body. Where I would tighten. Where I would contract.
And rather than judging what I found there, I began to meet it with awareness.
Through body-based energy practices, something changed. Something softened. The triggers lost their grip. The old loops began to quiet.
I started recognizing where my energy had been held or blocked, and I learned how to gently open those spaces.
Here is what I know now: the parts of you that you’ve been judging are not the problem. They are the doorway back to yourself, to your healing, to your magnificence.
If this speaks to you, I’d love to continue the conversation. I’ve created a small, private WhatsApp community where I offer free workshops, gifted calls, and ongoing support.
